Come in for your Free Vein Consultation that includes:
- Preliminary examination
- Discussion of your vein condition
- Brief medical history review
- Review of your covered benefits under your individual insurance plan
- Review of general options for course of treatment
Ultrasound Scan & Mapping:
- Extensive History and physical exam
- Discussion with your treating physician
- Real-time venous Doppler Ultrasound to examine the vein anatomy, identify problem veins and formulate an individualized treatment plan exclusively for your needs.
- Map out (mark out on your leg) your leg with the treatment path in preparation for surgery.
Your Treatment (Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA):
- Prep for Treatment
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat well
- Avoid applying lotion to the leg
- May be asked to avoid certain medications
- Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) Procedure
- A review of the surgical procedure with your treating staff
- 30-45 minute procedure
- Laser catheter is inserted into defective vein
- Performed under local anesthesia with Ultrasound Guidance
- The laser will heat the lining of the vein, shrink and seal it shut.
- Post-Op Treatment
- Compression stocking is applied and worn for 48-72 hours after.
- Walking daily is encouraged to reduce bruising and swelling
- Ibuprofen may be taken for discomfort
- Avoid rigorous activity, jumping or intense workouts for a few days.
Your Treatment (Sclerotherapy):
- Prep for Treatment
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat well
- Avoid applying lotion to the leg
- May be asked to avoid certain medications
- 20 minute in-office procedure involving a series of small injections into the target vein.
- Medication into the target vein creates an inflammatory reaction causing the vein to collapse.
- Your body will reabsorb naturally by the body improving blood flow through healthy veins.
- Post-Op Treatment
- Compression stocking is applied and worn for 48-72 hours after.
- Walking daily is encouraged to reduce bruising and swelling
- Ibuprofen may be taken for discomfort
- Avoid rigorous activity, jumping or intense workouts for a few days.
Any course of treatment will be followed by a post-op visit to discuss your results.
