ICAVL

The Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) is pleased to announce that The Circulatory Center of Pennsylvania, Inc. (CCPA) has attained our highest recognition for its commitment to providing a high level of patient care and quality testing for the diagnosis of vascular disease.

CCPA, with seven offices throughout Western Pennsylvania, is one of a select number of private, vascular practices in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to meet or exceed the ICAVL standards for noninvasive vascular testing. During the accreditation process, every aspect of daily operations and its impact on the quality of health care provided to patients is assessed and reviewed. Participation in – and completion of – the accreditation process demonstrates The Circulatory Center of Pennsylvania’s attention to a high level of patient care and quality testing.

For over 20 years, CCPA has offered diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins. CCPA physicians have cultivated a reputation as the quality provider of state-of-the-art varicose vein care. Primarily focusing on two techniques – Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) and sclerotherapy – CCPA’s success rate in treating varicose veins is unmatched in this region.

Venous insufficiency, which is the underlying vascular condition that leads to the formation of varicose veins, is a significant health problem in this country. It is estimated that as many as one in five Americans has some degree of venous insufficiency, ranging from small surface veins to large varicosities that cause significant daily leg pain, swelling, skin breakdown, and ultimately, various degrees of disability. Symptoms can range from chronic aching or tiredness in the legs to muscle cramps, restlessness, and an inability to stand for extended periods of time, often interfering with patients’ jobs. While much of the underlying disease process is hereditary, it is often triggered or worsened with pregnancies, long periods of standing, leg injuries, and hormonal factors.

The treatment process begins with a no-charge consultation and continues with a full history and physical as well as Doppler ultrasound scan which will allow CCPA providers to properly set a course of treatment. Medical Director Louis M. Certo, M.D. is very pleased to receive the ICAVL accreditation. “We pride ourselves on always looking for ways to make our patient’s experience at The Circulatory Center a positive one. From our scheduling department to our PAR’s (Patient Account Representatives) who assist the patient with insurance payments – from our Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Ultrasound Technicians, Nurses and Medical Assistants to our Receptionists - we are focused on one goal as an organization - patient satisfaction. Receiving validation from ICAVL only further enhances our standing within the medical community.”
